Why do you blog?

I was thinking about blogging the other day wondered why we all do it? Is it narcissism? For educational purposes? A form of therapy? For me it is a few reasons. My blogging journey began as a way to chronicle my embryo adoption journey and to meet other EA mommas. Later it became a way to reach out to others going through infertility and to educate those unfamiliar with EA. Now it is also about relationships. I have "met" some really amazing woman, all in different places, yet all with a common bond. And I feel like you are all "family". Kind of like sisters!

So why do you blog?

  1. For the exact reasons you listed! Mine started out as a way to share the EA process with my friends and family (so I wouldn't have to explain 900 times!) and now it's more for the friendships I've formed through it. It's a great way to encourage and be encouraged.

  2. When we first decided to go down this EA journey, I soaked up anything I could find about embryo adoption, mostly on people's individual blogs. Reading other people's stories helped me so much that I decided to share my story as well in the hopes that I could help someone else who was searching.

I find, however, that the writing itself is very therapeutic for me and the relationships priceless.

  3. I started as a way to keep friends up to date on our journey. It quickly turned into a story to tell our children of how hard we worked and prayed for them. Now it is not only a story but a way to connect with others who are going down or have been down the same road.

  4. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I think I might just blog about this very topic in my post today.

  5. I blog because it is my outlet to vent. to get things off my chest. Then I started reading more and more blogs, I started caring about the women on here. Then it become not only a place to vent but a place where I could relate to others. A place to get help and to give help.
