I made "the call" today

It is time. Time to start for baby number two (and maybe even three....yikes). We have the money and we are ready to go. Now we must decide which clinic we are going to use. It is a toss up between Jacksonville Fertility Clinic and the Fertility and Surgical Associates. I have spoken with the second one and like them a lot. The first one I called today and am waiting to hear back. The only information I have on the Jacksonville one from another patient. If what I have been told is true (you get all of the embryos and if the first try is unsuccessful you pay $1400 for subsequent tries with all of the embryos in the batch) then this is the one we are leaning towards. Both of them have about the same initial fees. Now I need confirmation on the their program and to know the wait times before we decide.

I am a bit nervous to start this whole process again. What if it doesn't work? What if it does and we have triplets?? Well, whatever the outcome we are ready to try again.

  1. We are getting ready to persue embryo adoption as well! How much did you pay for everything is you don't mind me asking? We have an appointment tomorrow to discuss it with our clinic and I wanted to make sure they were reasonably priced. Congratulations on beginning this next chapter!!!

  2. Lyndsey, for our first one we paid $3600. That clinic has since closed so we are looking for a new one. Both clinics are about $4500 (at least the CA is, waiting on confirmation from the FL one). These are on the low end from what I have found from calling clinics. I believe that $6000-7000 is about average.

  3. Thank you so much! I was afraid it was going to be more than that so that makes me happy! If we end up doing this I'm sure I'll have many questions to ask you if that's ok.

  5. Lyndsey, we paid $3500 through our clinic in Syracuse, NY but that is really low. We researched a lot of clinics and found it could be up to $8-10k depending on where you go. Good luck.
And, yay Jess! I can't wait to follow you on this next chapter on your EA journey.

  8. I had a great experience with the Fertility and Surgical Associates. I saw Dr. Kumar there and he was wonderful. He was so helpful and kind - called me personally with updates and definitely isn't in it for the money. His nurse/coordinator was awesome too - great at her job. Everything goes so smoothly with a staff like that. I couldn't say enough good things about them.

    Good luck!

  9. Wow! That's great! My clinic does not have this option. I'm not very happy with the company we went with, but I'm trying to remind myself that it will be worth it in the end. Deep Breaths! Best of luck on your path forward!
